16.1- Introduction
Buddhism is based on "the awakened One", aka Buddha. Before being known as Buddha, he was Prince Siddhartha. Prince Siddhartha lived from around 563 to 483 B.C.E. He left the luxurious royal life when he was 29 years old, and started Buddhism. Buddhism is a simple way of life, and is based off of simple teachings. The Buddhists believe that people are reborn over and over again, but once you would reach enlightment, that came from the knowledge of the deep truth, they'd stop being reborn over and over again.
